The Dale F. Halton Theater crowns the Halton family's great commitment to this community in beauty and in outreach. Central Piedmont Community College has produced performing arts events on its Central Campus for decades. This spectacular 1020-seat venue, built in the style of a 19th Century opera house, is home to theatre, music and dance productions and regularly features performances from notable award winning artists and speakers, including President George W. Bush.
The Halton Theater boasts a 2500 square foot stage with a sprung floor, a full fly house, an orchestra pit for 30 instrumentalists complete with a stage lift, a custom-designed Wenger orchestra shell and a new Steinway concert grand piano. With an 22' by 34' projection screen and a state-of-the-art surround sound system, the Halton is also perfect for film and video presentations. Spacious dressing rooms, scenery and costume shops and a 2000 square foot rehearsal hall add to the superb function of the venue.
