The Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestras, founded in 1961, provide training for young musicians in a professional symphony atmosphere. There are 185 musicians from over 60 schools in the greater Charlotte area involved in the youth orchestras program. The CSYO are educational components of the Charlotte Symphony orchestra. The orchestras offer students in the greater Charlotte area a unique performing experience, in which talented young musicians obtain musical training in a semi-professional ensemble setting.

Featuring the best young musicians in the city, the Charlotte Symphony Youth and Junior Youth Orchestras perform an afternoon of orchestral favorites. Ernest Pereira conducts.
