Civics Education Resources for Adult English Language Learners
The main goal of this website is to support teachers and students as they learn about their rights and responsibilities and participate in their local communities.
The site includes information pertaining to:
- Consumer economics
- Community resources
- Employment
- Government
- Health
For teachers in particular, we have included curriculum materials we have used in our civics courses for English as a Second Language students at Central Piedmont Community College. We enthusiastically welcome additional materials, lesson plans and curriculum ideas from other educators throughout our state.
A second goal of this webpage is to encourage collegiality and community among adult ESL instructors across North Carolina. For further information, please contact Rebeca Fernandez at rebeca.fernandez@cpcc.edu
