On Tuesday, April 22  - Thursday, April 24, 2008, over 2,000 juniors and seniors from across the region participated in the 2008 Construction Career Days event.

The event was sponsored by the State of North Carolina Department of Transportation, the State Board of Education/Department of Public Instruction, Construction Industry Education Coalition, Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC), Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS), and the National Association of Women in Construction. 

High school juniors and seniors from eight counties including Gaston, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Iredell, Cabarrus, Rowan, Union and Catawba participated in interactive exhibits and competitions that showcased the following programs of study at CPCC:
