CPCC to Hold New Student Orientation
On July 22 and 29, CPCC will hold orientation for new students to find out more about all the college has to offer.
Welcome to Central Piedmont Community College! As one of CPCC newest members, you are probably excited and a bit nervous as you prepare to embark on your journey. You undoubtedly have questions about CPCC and your role as a student. CPCC has designed a special program for you to ask questions and get answers so you can have a smooth transition into college life. This program is called the New Student Orientation Program.

The New Student Orientation program provides you with resources that are essential to your transition. During the program, students and parents will have the opportunity to speak to instructors about what is expected of them in the classroom, and what students should expect from their instructors. Students will also learn about the college’s physical, academic and social environment.
The New Student Orientation will feature a Student Services Fair for students to pick up information about the college. The fair will include representation from the following areas:
Student Life
Financial Aid
Student Support Services
Career Services
Counseling and Advising
Academic Learning Center
Cooperative Services
Transfer Resource Center
International Services and Programs
Library Services
In addition to the student services fair, there will be sessions for students and parents to attend. They include:
Just for Parents: What to expect?
Topics will include what parents should expect, college transfer information and how a parent can support first year students.
Instructors Open Forum
Instructors discuss college student skills, strategies designed to improve study behaviors, student expectations and what is expected of the instructor.
Library Services
Learn how the library can help you become an outstanding student. The library services continue to expand and offer students more each year.
Students and parents will have an opportunity to tour the campuses, purchase text books and meet fellow first year students. Finally, students will have the opportunity to win a $ 500.00 scholarship for participating.
