CPCC Launches New Entrepreneurship Certificate
16-Week Program Offers Path to Successful Business Ownership
For those dreaming of starting their own business, Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) has the answer. The College is launching the New Ventures Entrepreneurship Certificate Program to help make those dreams become reality. The new 16-week program begins January 23 and will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-8:30 p.m. in the Institute for Entrepreneurship (CPCC Central Campus – Professional Development building – room 215 – corner of Elizabeth Avenue and Independence Boulevard).
This comprehensive course is designed for individuals serious about starting their own business. The curriculum was developed by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, an internationally recognized leader in entrepreneurial education. Geoffrey Goss, President and Chairman of Community Anchors, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to helping local small businesses become established and thrive in Charlotte, will be the instructor. Coursework will be a combination of online and classroom activities, supplemented with counseling, speakers, and opportunities for networking.
The certificate program allows participants to:
• Assess their ability as an entrepreneur
• Evaluate the feasibility of their business idea
• Plan for a successful business start-up
• Meet one-on-one with business counselors
• Develop a marketing strategy
• Develop a business plan
• Gain confidence and credibility as a knowledgeable business owner
“We’re excited about this new program and the opportunities available for those considering a new business start-up,” states Lori Day, Executive Director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship. “The 16-week certificate program is intense and hands-on, intended to provide students with the understanding, knowledge, and skills they need to be a successful business owner.”
This is a continuing education course and does not require pre-requisites. For more information or to register, call the Institute for Entrepreneurship at 704.330.4223 or log on at www.cpcc.edu/e-institute.
