CPCC Hires New Director of Teacher Education Initiatives
As Director of Teacher Education Initiatives, Dunlap will oversee the curriculum and course development of teacher education courses at CPCC. She will work closely with local and state entities including Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, and the North Carolina Community College System to stay abreast of new programs, certification requirements, and training needs.
“We are excited to have Dr. Dunlap leading our teacher education initiatives at CPCC,” states Gary Nelson, Dean of Instructional Development at CPCC. “As we continue to face a tremendous shortage in teachers, every institution of higher education in this region must be actively involved in teacher education training. Dr. Dunlap’s past experiences will help take our teacher education program to the next level.”
Central Piedmont Community College is the largest community college in North Carolina, offering 100 degree and certification programs, customized corporate training, market-focused continuing education, and special interest classes.
